Iroko Dining Table

This custom dining table was made for a client that had recently purchase some vintage Teak chairs from London. Given authentic Teak is rare and highly regulated, we had to come up with a wood that would match the color and grain of the chairs. In this case, Iroko wood was the answer.

A few specific design elements from the client were that the top should be the same size as, and match the profile of, the base. We added a nice little cove detail between the base and the top to create a nice shadow line to seperate the two. The legs also feature a curve the integrated into the table rails. The shape of this curve matches the curve in the backs of the chairs.

Topping off this table is some stunning pieces of flamed Iroko. The figure in these pieces for the top is a real show stopper. The finish for the table is a hand rubbed oil and satin poly finish.
