Inspired by a big box design, I worked with my client to customize and redesign this mid Century modern shelf unit to fit her specific needs. Made of solid cherry wood and finished with a natural oil and wax finish.

Designed to store lots of children’s books, this custom bookcase was designed so that the books would face forward so children could easily see their favorite books. It is also short enough for a child to easily access their favorite book.

In part 3 of the cherry office desk build, I finish sanding and shaping the top and get it attached. I then go through a very simple finish technique for cherry wood.
